Georgia Presidential Electors Challenge

Wood v. Raffensperger

Lawsuit filed by pro-Trump lawyer and conspiracy theorist L. Lin Wood challenging the inclusion of absentee ballots in the general election results of Georgia. The Democratic Party of Georgia, Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee (DCCC) and Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee (DSCC) successfully intervened in the case. The district court denied Wood’s motion for injunctive relief due to lack of standing, which Wood immediately appealed to the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals. The 11th Circuit affirmed the district court’s denial of injunctive relief and the U.S. Supreme Court denied Wood’s petition for a writ of certiorari. The case was dismissed with prejudice.

This case was one of the lawsuits former President Donald Trump and his allies brought in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
