Pennsylvania Allegheny County BOE Appeal #2
Ziccarelli v. Allegheny County Board of Elections
Petition filed by a Republican candidate for Pennsylvania state Senate appealing the Allegheny Board of Elections’ decision to count about 300 provisional ballots where voters signed in only one of two required places, often at the direction of an elections official. The Commonwealth Court of Pennsylvania reversed the BOE’s decision, ordering it to exclude the challenged ballots from the county’s certified results.
This case was one of the lawsuits former President Donald Trump and his allies brought in an effort to overturn the results of the 2020 election.
