Missouri COVID-19 Election Relief
American Women v. Missouri
Lawsuit filed on behalf of the organization American Women and voters challenging five Missouri laws that plaintiffs allege limit access to vote by mail during the 2020 general election: a notary requirement, a requirement that voters return their ballots only via the U.S. Postal Service, a ballot receipt deadline, a ban on third-party ballot collection and signature matching protocols. The court denied the plaintiffs’ request for injunctive relief, finding that the plaintiffs’ claims all failed as a matter of law. Judgment was entered in favor of the defendants.
