South Carolina Cure Guidance
Shernoff v. Andino
Lawsuit filed on behalf of the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee and an individual voter challenging South Carolina’s lack of cure opportunities for mail-in ballots with alleged signature or witness requirement deficiencies. After the district court granted a preliminary injunction in a case raising related issues, the state was prohibited from disqualifying otherwise valid ballots based on mismatched signatures without providing notice and an opportunity to cure. After the state released new signature matching guidance, the plaintiffs voluntarily dismissed this case.
