A federal judge denied a request from voting rights groups on Wednesday to reopen Florida’s voter registration due to the impacts of Hurricanes Helene and Milton. The deadline to register was Monday.
A Fulton County judge dismissed a lawsuit Wednesday from Georgia Democrats asking Gov. Brian Kemp (R) to hold ethics hearings on the conduct of the MAGA members of the State Election Board.

Lawsuit filed by the Fulton County Board of Registration and Elections against the state of Georgia challenging the Georgia State Election Board’s (SEB) proposed plan to appoint and require the county to pay for its own election monitors to observe the county’s election process during the 2024 general election.
The lack of polling places on college campuses appears to be in violation of a 2022 state law requiring campuses with at least 300 registered voters living on campus to have a polling place.

Lawsuit filed by an election poll worker against the Montgomery County Board of Elections and all of its members challenging the board’s failure to offer proper photo ID training to county poll workers ahead of the November 2024 general election.
Fulton County Republican Party v. Williams
Lawsuit filed by Republican National Committee, Georgia Republican Party and Fulton County Republican Party against Director of Fulton County Department of Registration and Elections Nadine Williams challenging the county’s decision to hire only a small number of Republican poll workers during early voting and on Election Day.
Purdue University in Indiana will not have an Election Day polling place this year. The Tippecanoe County Election Board decided not to hold one, even though the campus has had one during the last four presidential elections.
A trial judge in South Carolina extended the state’s voter registration to Oct. 14.
Since 2020, U.S. states have stripped millions of voters deemed ineligible from voter rolls and will almost certainly remove more. Usually, this isn’t cause for alarm.
